Having spent her first 18 years growing up in a small town on the edge of the Brecon Beacons in South Wales, Susy has always been in love with melody and song. This underpins both her writing and performing and is a fundamental part of who she is as an artist. Studying piano from the age of six and teaching herself the guitar at 15, Susy's musical background was varied. At home, her parents introduced her to a plethora of sounds and styles, from classical arias to songs from the musicals. AT school, she developed a love for all things 80's, falling love with the tunes from Deacon Blue, Aztec Camera and Del Amitri, to name but a few.
Over the course of her career to date, Susy has released two EP's and will be releasing her debut album, The spaces in between, in September 2024.
She has been selected to play as only one of three artists on the Launchpad at Shrewsbury Folk Festival in 2023 and secured a spot at Moseley Folk Festival shortly after.

She has been selected to play as only one of three artists on the Launchpad at Shrewsbury Folk Festival in 2023 and secured a spot at Moseley Folk Festival shortly after.
She has had radio play on BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio Scotland, BBC WM, and several regional and online stations.
She has collaborated with other musicians such as Gordon Giltrap MBE and Norman Paterson, played Celtic Connections and been interviewed live on BBC Midlands today by Nick Owen.

Susy’s songs are influenced by both classical and contemporary themes which translate into melodic, honest songs that tell the ordinary story, often inspired by the everyday moments that often go unnoticed. She is heavily influenced by songwriters such as Laura Marling, Norah Jones and Simon & Garfunkel, focusing on the strength of a melodic vocal topline which often features above a piano or acoustic guitar. Her performance style is often acoustic and emphasises her vocals in a similar way to artists such as Eddi Reader and Joni Mitchell.
I've been singing since I was 7 ...it's the most natural and enjoyable thing to do every day. I play live gigs in both my local area and further afield, mainly my own material as I'm a huge supporter of independent musicians and their material. As a singer-songwriter, I'm always looking for opportunities to sing, write and collaborate. I write and sing various genres of folk, acoustic and chilled music. I use the piano and guitar as springboards for my writing process.
I'm currently collaborating with several musicians and will have lots of lovely projects to share with you soon!
I was so lucky to be share a stage with the fantastic Norman Paterson, Angus Lyon and Anna Massie in January 2024. Norman had asked me to sing backing vocals on his beautiful debut album, Torn. So, when he was asked to play the album in its entirety at the iconic Celtic Connections, I jumped at the chance to share a stage with him, alongside Angus and Anna.
You can listen to my music and support me directly on Bandcamp. You can also listen to me on Spotify, iTunes and Amazon Music (check out all other streaming services too!)
I've been a singer-songwriter for several years now and have been working more recently with others, offering collaboration, toplining, lyrical and vocal services. I've been on several workshops and retreats with other songwriters and have loved supporting and contributing to other peoples creative journeys. It's been a joy to provide harmonies, backing vocals and lead vocals to other artists musical projects - drop susy wall music a message below if you'd like to discuss how I might help you in your next musical adventure!

Gordon is re-working some of his wonderful music to include vocals and has asked me to be part of this which is such a privilege.
